Terms & Conditions

Before arrival at Uitvlugt Resort, every person must ensure that they have read and understand the Terms & Conditions, the General House Rules, the Indemnity Form and the General Warning.

1.      Rates: All rates quoted are in South African Rands and charges are per night booked.

2.      Occupancy: Once a guest has checked in or has partaken in any activity at Uitvlugt Resort, there will be no refund of booking fees whatsoever to guests or their agents or tour operators who made the booking. Late arrivals or no-shows will forfeit their booking fees.

3.      Changing a Booking: Should you wish to change your confirmed booking to an alternative date, you are required to submit the detailed request, clearly stipulating the reason for your request at least four weeks prior to date of arrival at Uitvlugt Resort to admin@uitvlugtresort.co.za. Acceptance of the request is solely at the discretion of the Uitvlugt Resort management team. Rejected requests are not negotiable. Rejected or accepted alterations will be confirmed in writing via email.

4.      Cancellations: Should you wish to cancel your confirmed booking, you are required to submit the detailed request, clearly stipulating the reason for your cancellation at least four weeks prior to date of arrival at Uitvlugt Resort to admin@uitvlugtresort.co.za. Acceptance of the request is solely at the discretion of the Uitvlugt Resort management team. Rejected requests are not negotiable. Rejected or accepted cancellations will be confirmed in writing via email.

5.      Cancellation Policy: Four weeks prior to arrival, 25% of the full booking fee will be forfeited. Three weeks prior to arrival, 50% of the full booking fee will be forfeited. Two weeks prior to arrival 75% of the full booking fee will be forfeited. One week prior to arrival 100% of the full booking fee will be forfeited.

6.      Conditions: All reservations are made on the express condition that Uitvlugt Resort and its staff and agents shall not be responsible for and shall be exempt from all liability in respect of any loss, damages or accident, delays or inconvenience to any person, or their luggage or other property.

7.      Facilities: The use of the Uitvlugt Resort facilities is at own risk. Should you feel unsafe or doubtful prior or during participation of any activity or using any facility, please withdraw and stop participation immediately. The safety of every guest/staff member is of utmost importance to us.

8.      Code of Conduct: Any guest undertakes and agrees that they will always comply with Uitvlugt Resort requirements regarding their conduct and will not in any way constitute a nuisance to other guests/staff/animals.

9.      Access: Every person entering Uitvlugt Resort property does it at their own risk. Nobody is permitted to enter Uitvlugt Resort property without the written consent of the owners or management. Unauthorised access, without the necessary written permission, will result in prosecution and official charges will be laid.

Uitvlugt Resort owners, management, staff and agents will not be liable for any injury, loss or damage of any nature whatsoever, whether arising from negligence or any other cause, which is suffered by any person who enters the property.

General House Rules

 i.        No early arrivals or late departures will be allowed. Strictly keep to the check-in and check-out times as per your Booking Confirmation. Guests are required to immediately report to reception on arrival and all guests must read and sign the Indemnity form. Campsites will not be reserved and will only be allocated on arrival.

ii.        Guests are welcome to utilise all activities offered at Uitvlugt Resort and are free of charge. Always obey the different activity rules. Should you feel unsafe or doubtful prior or during participation of any activity or using any facility, please withdraw and stop participation immediately. The safety of every guest/staff member is of utmost importance to us.

iii.       Be aware that swimming is only allowed in the swimming pool and in no other water source i.e., dam, river, etc. Note that there is NO LIFEGUARD on duty. All children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. Be health conscious and do not urinate in the pools.

iv.        Uitvlugt Resort is a proclaimed Nature and Wildlife Conservancy and therefore no pets are allowed.

v.        You are prohibited from feeding any domestic or wild animals. Please respect the wildlife and do not approach any animals. All wild animals are extremely dangerous. Guests are not allowed to harm or disturb any wild or domestic animal or bird. Uitvlugt Resort is a Nature and Wildlife Conservancy and offenders will be prosecuted and official charges will be laid.

vi.        The chalets are no smoking areas. Please smoke in the designated areas only. Ask management or staff where you are permitted to smoke.

vii.        Open fires are only allowed in braai/barbeque stands provided. No fires are allowed outside the perimeter of the unit you have booked. Ensure that all fires and cigarette buds are properly extinguished after use.Your braai/barbeque stand is also safe to use as a firepit/boma. No private firepit/boma will be allowed.

viii.       Fires and cigarette buds and/or any other item that can cause a wildfire, MUST be extinguished once used. Offenders starting a wildfire will be prosecuted according to the law.

ix.        Due to the thread of the spreading of invasive and harmful insect species, firewood is for sale at the curio shop and no wood may be brought from outside onto the Uitvlugt Resort Conservancy. No wood may be collected from the natural bush or trees in or around the chalet/camp terrain.

x.        Adhere to the speed limits on all roads. Speeding may lead to the killing of animals and humans.

xi.        Uitvlugt Resort has a strict no littering policy and all garbage must be disposed of into the garbage bins provided. Cigarette buds must be disposed of in ash trays or garbage bins provided.

xii.        There are no toilet facilities along the trails and relieving yourself on the trails and in public is an offence and will lead to prosecution according to the law. Please ensure that you make use of the toilet facilities before you embark on your trip.

xiii.       As water is a precious commodity, be water wise and close all taps properly after use and do not leave any water running unnecessary. All tap water inside the chalets and ablution blocks is safe for human consumption. Do not utilise any water from outside of buildings as it might not be fit for human consumption.

xiv.        Do not leave any electrical appliance or lights switched on while not in use. Do not use the stove as a heater by turning on the cooking plates and oven. Use the heater provided to warm your unit.

xv.        Be considerate towards other people. You are in the bush to enjoy the peace and quiet it offers. Keep voice and music tones down, not to be heard outside the perimeters of your accommodation. No excessive noise of any nature will be allowed = No Noice Policy.

xvi.        Do not flush any foreign matter down the toilets as the Uitvlugt Resort use french drains that could be blocked by foreign objects.

xvii.        Guests will be held liable for any wilful damage to any property belonging to Uitvlugt Resort and any replacement and/or repair costs will be for the account of such guest/s.

xviii.       Uitvlugt Resort is a fully functioning venue and have adequate facilities and equipment to cater for weddings, conferences, reunions, birthdays, school camps, church camps and any other formal functions, gatherings or celebrations. No outside contractors will be allowed to offer services on the Uitvlugt Resort site. Contact Reservations to organise and book your functions.

General Warning

Spiders, Snakes and Scorpions: These creatures are part of our environment. Do not harm or kill it – it is more scared of humans as humans are of it. It poses no harm if not threatened.

Hippopotamus, Crocodiles and other dangerous Wild Animals: DO NOT walk or strole around at night, as these wild animals roam the terrain freely and could hurt and potentially kill you.

Monkeys and Baboons: Monkeys and baboons are very cute and can be entertaining for young and old, but please do not feed them. Remember that by feeding them, you are signing their death warrant, as they become aggressive. By feeding these animals you do not only aggravate the situation, but you also make these animals lazy and they become dependent on this type of food source. Before leaving your accommodation, please make sure that you have put away all foodstuffs securely. Remember that these monkeys and baboons have learnt to open fridge doors and cupboards. Ensure that all doors and windows are closed and locked to ensure food and belongings are safe while you are not at your accommodation.

Bats and Insects: Light draws many flying insects and with these insects come their predators. These predators could take on the form of bats and frogs. Please remember to keep your doors and windows closed at night, as this will prevent these unwanted creatures from entering your accommodation.

Malaria: Dinokeng surroundings is classified as a malaria free area, but we advise that you consult your medical practitioner for advice prior to your trip.

Note: This document is displayed at the Uitvlugt Resort reception and on the Uitvlugt Resort website. Every guest/visitor/contractor or whatever your relationship with Uitvlugt Resort is, must read and understand the contents prior to visiting.

Upon entering Uitvlugt Resort, every individual person accepts and agree to obey to the entire content of these Terms and Conditions, the General House Rules, the Indemnity Form and the General Warning and agree not to dispute the content in any way whatsoever.
